This Sweet Potato Apple Hash is an easy side dish that is easy to whip up and full of flavor. It is the perfect dish to bring over to a BBQ or gathering as it is delicious even at room temperature. I love the natural sweetness from the sweet potatoes, the crisp tart apple flavor, and the crispy fried onion flavor at the end. Hits all the flavor profiles. This is a Whole30 compatible dish, it is gluten, grain, and refined oil free.
To make this quickly, pre-heat the oven first. I like to use the fan assist function on my oven as it creates an Air Fryer like situation and gets everything nice and crisp. Next, chop up all the ingredients. Keep each ingredient a consistent size. Smaller pieces of sweet potato will cook up faster then bigger pieces. I like to use salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a bit of ground coriander as the seasonings. Feel free to use whatever spice blend you prefer.
One other amazing addition to this Sweet Potato Apple Hash is bacon. Although it is optional in the ingredients list it adds a whole other layer of Bacon-tastiness. A few slices of bacon diced up is all you need. Pancetta would also work nicely in this dish.
Serve this Hash with some beautifully grilled meat and a side salad for a flavorful and easy dinner. You can not go wrong with this one. It is a crowd pleaser, with minimal prep and maximum deliciousness!
