Crispy, flavorful, freshly roasted chicken is one of those comfort foods that never gets old. I promise you will not be disappointed making this Crispy Ranch Rotisserie Chicken as it is a breeze to make. The skin gets crispy and the seasoning mix is just right for all that fresh Ranch Seasoning flavor. The chicken breast stays super moist and delicious too. You can also use the ranch seasoning mixture for other recipes too. This recipe is perfect if you are doing a Whole30. My Crispy Ranch Rotisserie Chicken is gluten and grain free and uses no seed oils.
This recipe is so simple to make. In a few easy steps, you will have freshly roasted juicy Crispy Ranch Rotisserie Chicken on the table. Where I live the chickens are quite small, around 2.5lbs, so feel free to double the seasoning mix if you have a big chicken and of course, adjust the cooking time.
Pat dry your chicken and take out anything inside the cavity if necessary. You can use avocado, coconut, ghee, or olive oil on the chicken. I like using avocado or coconut oil spray…make sure it is 1 ingredient oil cooking oil spray to avoid chemicals. Mix up your Ranch Seasoning Blend. Coat chicken with oil and liberally season each side of chicken and the inside cavity. Place on oiled baking rack or air fryer basket. You want the pan to be oiled well so when you flip it over you have no issues. Place in oven or air fryer and let it do its thing.
This is a great item to meal prep and have on hand for easy lunches and dinners throughout the week. Save the carcass to make bone broth later on. I love a recipe that can do double duty!
Store Bought vs Homemade
Lots of grocery stores now offer freshly made in-house Rotisserie Chicken. I do not like that most places add lots of additives and preservatives to their spice mixes and typically use seed oil, this is why I prefer to make my Rotisserie Chicken at home. Some places will even add wheat flour or soy to their chicken. Lots of sneaky ingredients can be added that you have to watch out for if you have allergies or sensitivities to certain foods. You can control all the ingredients, plus the skin will still be nice and crispy since you will eat it when it is still fresh. How to Get the Chicken Crispy
There are 2 foolproof ways to cook this chicken: an air fryer or your oven with the fan assist feature on (essentially turning your oven into a large air fryer is my favorite cooking hack). You will cook it at 200C in the air fryer or 225C in your oven with fan assist on. You will cook it breast side down for 30 minutes, then flip it over for another 20 minutes for the other side to get nice, golden, and crispy. I like to put my chicken on a baking rack if I’m cooking it in the oven. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving, this also helps it to stay juicy.
